One girl, using her creativity to smile again.

(Here’s a story, of a crumbling tooth lady - who was trying to handle it all on her own… OK, ok I’ll skip the brady bunch parody and get to business…)

Friends,

Like many of you, 2020 has proven to be a challenging year and I find myself needing to raise 40-45k. Yes forty-thousand-freaking-dollars. Why, you ask?

Dental work. More precisely, dental work for someone living with Tourettes Syndrome whose dominant tics are in her mouth and can’t be treated unless she is put under general anesthesia. General anesthesia that neither dental nor medical insurance will cover even a dime of, despite it being medically necessary. It is far easier to nail jello to a tree than it is to find a dentist willing to work on me - which they tell me often comes down to liability and time issues. I FINALLY found a dentist that specializes in special needs patients - and had the first round of work done in October. Since the pain is starting again, I need to get the next round of treatment done ASAP - and that is estimated to cost between 16-20k out of my tapped out pocket. (yikes!)

Even more importantly, once the dental work is complete - I have a significant chance at reversing the disease that disabled me - I can’t begin to tell you how much this possibility makes my heart happy - the chance - of living without PPPD again - life changing. In addition, the constant infections and inflammation i experience should also go away - it is amazing how much your teeth can affect the entire body. If enough people really want, I am happy to elaborate more - but at the moment, I don’t want to bore anyone.

This is NOT a poor me story though - there are many people facing hardships of their own and I am all too aware of that. This is an empowered story - of a woman using her skills and talents to get what she so badly needs. It’s the story of someone learning to ask a community for help when she needs it most. That isn’t easy for stubborn folks like me.

Many of you have suggested I do a go fund me, and while this is life altering for me - I don’t feel right doing that. I have the ability to fundraise in ways I feel good about - and that is just what I shall do…go on, take a look below!

If you ever wanted to buy my work - now, is a great time - not only is it needed, but you won’t see these prices again - I am hoping to generate quick, bulk sales that add up.

With gratitude + love,

Chrysti
